I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a focus on individuals experiencing psychosis.
I provide therapy for individuals struggling with
I believe we feel the most free and fulfilled when we can be our true selves. This is hard to come by in a world of rules, taboos, judgment, and danger. Past experiences of rejection, violence, and invalidation pull us away from who we really are and our minds struggle to mend this gap. I view my role as a therapist as helping you 'return to yourself' using these guiding values:
Understanding- The more misunderstood we are, the worse we tend to feel and the more negative our thoughts become. Feeling truly understood allows us to express ourselves clearly and trust more openly.
Being Genuine- My goal is to be genuine, honest, and transparent in interacting with you. To not hide my motives or intentions. To admit when I’ve made a mistake or misunderstood. To be authentically myself with you in hopes that you can be authentically yourself with me.
Trust and Vulnerability- We are two humans sitting across from one another, each with our own skills, unique perspectives, and flaws. Being vulnerable is difficult and requires a lot of trust, but helps us better understand each other and ourselves.
We are all searching for places where we feel truly accepted, understood, and safe to express ourselves - this is where we feel free and whole.
